Apple likes to have the last laugh. Over the years, the company has put a variety of Easter eggs — hidden tricks and features, for the uninitiated — in its line of Mac products.

From clever photos to secret games, Mac developers have found plenty of ways to slip subtle messages into the personal computers. It's a mark of pride and a veritable rite of passage for product creators.

When Apple invented its first PC, the Mac 128K, consumers could find a very special gem hidden inside; once cracked open, users could see the signatures of everyone who worked for the computer division at the time adorning the interior.

Since then, they've upped the ante, slipping in witty references to Steve Jobs and sly jabs at other computer companies. In the gallery above, find just a few Easter eggs that every Mac-lover should know.
