History was made, or should we say remade, during Sunday's 56th Annual Grammy Awards.
Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney, two of the four former members of the The Beatles, reunited on the Grammys stage to perform a new song entitled "Queenie Eye" from McCartney's 2013 album New.
It was almost 50 years ago to the day that The Beatles made their U.S. debut on the Ed Sullivan show on CBS (the same network airing this year's Grammys). Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney, the only surviving members of the band, last performed together in 2009 for a David Lynch Foundation benefit concert at New York's Radio City Music Hall.
Starr, the Beatles' drummer, performed earlier during the Grammys broadcast, doing a solo performance to Photograph. A series of '60s era images flashed behind him as he sang.
Paul McCartney also took home an award Sunday, for Best Rock song for “Cut Me Some Slack," along with Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear.
During their time as a group, The Beatles earned a total of nine Grammys and 26 nominations.
