Ailing Child's NFL Wish Come True Will Melt Your Heart
What's This?
Get a Kleenex ready — you're about to get a little teary.
Jack Bolton, 8, has spinal muscular atrophy, which confines him to a motorized wheelchair and severely effects his respiratory system.
So when the Make-A-Wish Foundation found out that one of Bolton's lifelong wishes is to coach the NFL's Carolina Panthers for a day, they helped make it come true.
Coach Bolton signed a contract to help headman Ron Rivera lead the Panthers for one day during training camp in exchange for unlimited drinks and hot dogs.
He even wrote a charming speech for the occasion, which Rivera delivered to the team with Jack by his side after the young boy got shy. The players gave him a standing ovation, talked strategy with Jack and signed autographs. He even signed at least one autograph for an NFL-er, showing again that sports encompasses much more than wins and losses on a scoreboard.
For the entire heartwarming story, watch the five-minute video above. Then tell us in the comments whether you needed that Kleenex.
