Love and Medicine Save Runt of a Kitten Litter
What's This?
Meet Stuart Little, the runt of the litter that shouldn't even be alive right now.
When a litter of kittens in poor health was dropped off at nonprofit cat rescue organization Fabulous Felines Rescue NWA, there was little hope for Stuart. In fact, workers for the organization based in Bentonville, Ark. thought he might have already been dead when the box containing the sick critters arrived. But when a volunteer picked Stuart up, he was still breathing. They attempted feeding him and he was slowly revived. The little guy was so small, they nicknamed him "Chapstick."
It was not easy to nurse the endangered runt back to health — he had to be fed by tube then a bottle every two hours day and night for the first few weeks. Stuart had his share of setbacks, but the story ended happily. The volunteer assigned to his care bonded so well with the troubled feline, she adopted Stuart.
Stuart is now a healthy eight-month-old flame point Siamese mix and doing wonderfully. Scroll Stuart's amazing road to recovery below.
