The British Monarchy has a new prince. Kate Middleton gave birth to a healthy baby boy at 4:24am, journalists in the UK have learned.

News came piecemeal via tweets from the account of Clarence House, the official residence of Prince William and his wife:

News leaked out on Twitter in advance of the official announcement, with British photographer Jamie McFadden preceding the official tweets by a matter of minutes:

The AP had the news a matter of minutes later, and Clarence House confirmed shortly after that. We'll have more details — including the name — as we get them.
