Beckerman was notably absent from Jurgen Klinsmann's starting 11 (possibly because of the yellow card he drew in their Germany match on Thursday) — Team USA's coach preferring a new 3-3-4 lineup with Alejandro Bedoya and Graham Zusi playing up top to help Clint Dempsey. Even still, he'll be ready to come in if the U.S. needs his stellar defensive control of the midfield.
