Passengers Stuck on SeaWorld's Skytower Ride After Power Failure

On Sunday, 48 passengers got stuck on SeaWorld San Diego’s 400-foot-tall Skytower ride for nearly four hours when power went out in the park.

The power outage caused other rides to stop in their tracks as well, Fox 5 reports, but witnesses say most of them were back up and running in no time.

No one was seriously hurt but at least one person was taken to the hospital for anxiety.

“The guests were never in danger and park officials were in constant communication with them while the power failure was being addressed. Two SeaWorld employees were also in the Skytower providing guests with water and snacks," SeaWorld said in a statement.

Guests aboard did have air conditioning but no bathrooms and finally just had to use a bucket. They were given refunds and free tickets to the park — if they’re courageous enough to return.
