What do a hawk, a pornstar and a sniper have in common?
It's not a setup for your creepy uncle's favorite joke — there's an actual answer. The three disparate individuals each had a fascinating AMA on Reddit last week.
Other great moments came in the form of AMAs with an Orange Is the New Black star and the director of the comedy classic Wet Hot American Summer.
We've gathered our favorite quotes and moments below.
A former Australian special operations sniper, Mander gave up his military life to start the International Anti-Poaching Foundation (IAPF). His AMA was filled with information about the wildlife trafficking trade and what's being done to stop it. Our favorite moment came when he answered a Redditor's question about the mentality of poachers.
"Like any criminal, it depends on the person and the crime they commit. Some people are genuinely just trying survive. Others, it would be like robbing banks to put food on the table. Some of these commercial poachers are extremely wealthy, and more is just not enough.
We have actually retrained convicted poachers, and once you can convince them that looking after wildlife is more beneficial than killing it, they make great rangers."
Rufus, the hawk who keeps those damn dirty pigeons off the Wimbledon courts, was joined in his AMA by his handler, Imogen. Aside from a lot of shade being thrown at pigeons, Redditors had some fun questions for the two Wimbledon stars. Luckily for us, Imogen and Rufus were great sports. Our favorite moment came as an answer to the question, "Would you rather fight, with Rufus' help, a horse-sized pigeon or 100 pigeon-sized horses?"
"Tricky question!! I am sure 100 pigeon sized horses would definitely get under my feet..."
Attention scientists: We would pay good money to see a horse-sized pigeon. Just FYI.
James Deen, star of hit pornographic films such as [redacted] and [redacted], took to Reddit to answer some, er, interesting questions. It wouldn't be honest to call the AMA unentertaining, as Deen had some funny responses for curious Redditors. One great moment came when a Reddit user asked Deen if he planned to have children.
"i currently don't want kids. i do like the idea of marriage. i am a sucker for romance"
As are we, James, as are we.
Orange Is the New Black's newest star is Kimiko Glenn, who plays Brook Soso. Glenn gave an interesting answer a question about the similarities between the actresses and their respective characters.
"Hmmm. Well, let's start with least like. Well, obviously Uzo by far is the least like her character. She is not Crazy Eyes. Uzo is a very composed, smart - and actually Crazy Eyes is very smart too, but I think she is just a brilliant actress and creates this character who is completely unlike herself. And Taryn, playing Pennsatucky, is an adorable human being and it's amazing to me every day that she can play such a hard, at times nasty and gross person, because she's really just a beautiful soul and a caring person and obviously a very smart actress. In a lot of ways, I think everybody has an element of their characters inside of them, I think that's what helps us draw from when we come to play a role. So I think a lot of these women have similarities to their characters."
While you might not recognize David Wain as an actor, you'll definitely recognize the work he's directed, including Wet Hot American Summer, Children's Hospital and Role Models.
Wain had two answers that made us laugh out loud. To the question, "What does Paul Rudd smell like?," he responded with:
"He smells like a combination of Polo cologne and ass. That, and his wit, are what keeps me coming back."
To the question, "Who is your favorite up-and-coming comedian?," he answered simply: "John Boehner."
