It's a loss for the United States — time to celebrate, America!

Even though the U.S. Men's National Team lost to Germany 1-0 Thursday in an intense (and rainy) World Cup match, the Americans will advance to the next round, because of math and Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo scored in Portugal's game against Ghana, making the goal differential such that ... actually, don't try to understand it. Just accept it. It's kind of like time travel — complicated to grasp, but bitchin' regardless.
