Last week, we asked our Vine community to create six-second videos using tools and mechanical joints. Andrew Smith, whose Derp Vine account has accrued some 34,000 followers in less than a year), guest-hosted the challenge.

Smith familiarized himself with the nuts and bolts (no pun intended) of stop-motion animation using Derp, his handmade moveable sculpture.
