Faceboards: The Range of Human Emotion Caught on Camera

What's This?

From happy and sad, to anguished and exasperated, we often experience a wide range of human emotion. But what do these feelings look like?

Photographer Mike Larremore has an answer: You can see it on your face. He took pictures of models expressing every emotion possible, and stitched them all together to create individual "faceboards." The boards aim to show the range of facial contortions that humans have when expressing themselves.
