Google announced Monday its acquisition of smart thermometer maker Nest for $3.2 billion. Twitter rolled out a redesign of its website, focusing on mobile users. Gartner, a technology research firm, has some bad news for app developers: Less than 1% of mobile apps will bring in enough profit to be considered a financial success, and free apps will take over the app ecosystem.
