Deliciously Creative Coffee Cup Art Supports Thousands of Homeless Kids
What's This?
Some artists draw on bar napkins. Others, like Miguel Cardona, choose something a bit different for their canvas.
The illustrator and lead designer at imgix, an image processing company, creates stunning illustrations on paper coffee cups. His subjects include a broad list of characters ranging from Grumpy Cat to Walter White.
Cardona sells the cups and donates all of the proceeds to the charity Project Night Night , which supplies more than 25,000 "Night Night Packages" for homeless children each year — packages containing books, blankets and stuffed animals.
The website Cool Hunting reports that Cardona was inspired to decorate his cup after a barista tied a napkin to his coffee order, which he envisioned as a scarf.
The full collection of Cardona's cups can be found at here.
