Watch the New Year's Eve Ball Drop Live From Times Square

No matter where you're ringing in the new year, you'll be able to watch a live stream of the festivities in New York City's Times Square right here on Mashable or via mobile apps.
The commercial-free live stream — which begins at 5:55 p.m. ET and ends after the crystal ball drops at midnight to celebrate the beginning of 2014 — will include musical performances, celebrity interviews and the iconic ball drop atop the One Times Square building. The live stream will also debut footage from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie.

Last year, more than 1.2 million viewers from 196 countries watched the live stream. Here's a schedule of what you'll see during the live stream, powered by Livestream (all times Eastern):
6 p.m.: Organizers will light and raise the ball
6:58 p.m.: Hourly countdown begins; U.S.O. Troupe performs
8:15 p.m.: Rodney Atkins performs
8:35 p.m.: Icona Pop performs
9: 14 p.m.: Melissa Etheridge performs
9:32 p.m.: Blondie performs
9:52 p.m.: NASA astronauts will deliver a New Year's message from space
11:59 p.m.: The countdown to the ball drop begins
Meanwhile, on TV, the New Year's Rockin' Eve party will air on ABC starting at 8 p.m. ET, with additional Times Square performances by Miley Cyrus, BIlly Joel and Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor will help lower the ball.
