Amazon's lineup of original TV content is growing again.

Amazon Studios is moving forward with its first two hour-long drama pilots — Bosch and The After. People will be able to watch for free and help determine if they should become exclusive shows for Amazon Instant Video. Earlier this month, Amazon Studios greenlit three half-hour original pilots. Those shows are using the same viewer feedback model to decide which ones will make it into full series. In May, the studio began production on five comedy series, which were chosen by viewers from 14 original pilots.

The After revolves around eight strangers who help each other survive in a violent world that Amazon says "defies explanation." The Emmy-nominated Chris Carter, who created The X-Files, wrote and directed The After.

In a statement, Carter says, "This is a show that explores human frailty, possibility, terror, and the triumph of the human spirit."

Bosch, based on Michael Connelly's best-selling Harry Bosch series, follows a detective on the hunt for the killer of a 13-year-old boy even though he's been accused of murder himself. The series is written by Eric Overmyer, who has been nominated for Emmys for his work on Law & Order and Homicide: The Movie. Titus Welliver, of The Good Wife, will play Bosch.

Amazon Studios launched in 2010. It allows anyone to upload scripts to be considered for production for Amazon Instant Video. To date, more than 19,000 movie scripts and 5,000 series have been submitted to Amazon Studios, the company reports.
