Apple Store Down Ahead of iPad Announcement

Like clockwork, Apple's online store is dark prior to its big announcement.

The Apple Store appears to have gone down around 9 a.m ET. The company is holding an event at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco starting at 1 p.m. ET. Apple is expected to announce new fifth-generation iPads and a second-generation iPad Mini.

The Apple store typically goes down a few hours before the company's media events to add new products into the system.
