As if you needed another reason to celebrate puppies. October is Adopt a Shelter Dog month, and the best way to celebrate is to quickly proceed to your nearest shelter and adopt an adorable dog.

According to the ASPCA, approximately 5 million to 7 million animals enter shelters nationwide each year — 3 million to 4 million of which are euthanized.
