Tina Fey Joins 'Girls' Cast in Hilarious 'SNL' Parody
What's This?
Oh, goody — Tina Fey is moving to Brooklyn.
Ok, not really. But the actress parodied the Brooklyn-based HBO series Girls on Saturday Night Live this weekend, with hilarious results.
Fey portrayed Blerta, an Albanian woman who begins rooming with the neurotic Hannah Horvath. Blerta's — shall we say, unique — worldview provides a whole new perspective to the issues that the 20-something women in the show deal with.
Blerta's life advice to Shoshanna wins for the best moment.
"Don't speak," Blerta says, after slapping Shosh. "If you speak, they will know you are simple. If they know you are simple, they will drown you in river."
Also, props to new cast member Noël Wells' portrayal of Hannah (note the awkward-chin-resting-on-wrist move) and Kate McKinnon's wine-swigging, orgy-hating Jessa. Both are dead-on.
Even Lena Dunham, the show's creator and star, watched the spoof, and tweeted her thoughts:
Mindy Kaling captured Dunham's reaction to the Girls spoof in a photo.
Then, watch Fey's opening monologue, where the SNL vet hazed the show's six new cast members with a song-and-dance routine, complete with sparkly gold pants.
