Drake Album Leak Turns 'Pound Cake' Into Top Twitter Trend

The music industry is like a leaky faucet, with songs dripping out of it before the powers at be turn the handle. The latest drip? Rapper Drake's third studio album, Nothing Was the Same, has leaked online ahead of its Sept. 24 launch date. Its early arrival comes hours after Britney Spears' "Work B**ch" leaked, forcing her team to reschedule the song's official premiere.

The leaked album features cameos from Jay Z, Jhené Aiko, Majid Jordan and Detail. "Pound Cake," which features Jay Z, has particularly piqued interest on social media, with the title trending worldwide on Twitter for most of Monday.

Meanwhile, the album's name was one of Monday's top searches in the United States.

Drake debuted slow jam "Too Much" on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on Sunday.

Drake's camp previously made "Wu-Tang Forever" available on iTunes, but has yet to address the online leak in the rushed manner Lady Gaga did in August and Spears did Sunday.

There's no word on whether Drake's label will move the album's Sept. 24 release date.
