The Simpsons is the Internet's favorite TV show, according to a relative ranking of Facebook fans, Facebook buzz, Twitter followers and Wikipedia pageviews over the past 90 days.

While the majority of The Simpsons popularity is measured by its Facebook fans, it earned the coveted title of Internet's favorite because it also boasts Facebook buzz, Twitter followers and Wikipedia interest.

Considering the four aforementioned factors, Statista's chart below shows the 15 most popular TV shows on the Internet.

Each of the four factors were indexed to a relative score of 25 and awarded to the leading show in each category. The Simpsons won for Facebook fans, Breaking Bad for Facebook buzz, iCarly for Twitter and Game of Thrones for Wikipedia. A show with half as many Twitter followers as iCarly, for example, would receive a 12.5 in that category.

Statista compared values for the 34 TV shows with the most Facebook fans to develop the ranked list of 15. Many popular shows with Facebook fans, such as Friends, Seinfeld and 24, didn't make the cut to the top 15 because they lack Twitter presences. The highest attainable score would have been a 100, but no show earned more than 50 points.
