Harrison Ford Says We Take Online Privacy for Granted

What's This?

With digital privacy hot on moviegoers' minds thanks to recent NSA and Internet security revelations, lines for the new film Paranoia may be especially long.

The thriller, entrenched in the dark depths of the digital age, features two extremely powerful (and fictional) tech billionaires, played by Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman. An entry-level employee (played by Liam Hemsworth) gets mixed up in the rivalry between the two and is tasked with combatting corporate espionage.

In an exclusive to Mashable (watch above), cast members weigh in on tech, privacy and morality to the backdrop of scenes from the movie.

"People are so interested in feeling connected they don't recognize the value of their personal privacy until it's violated," Ford says in the video.

Based on the bestselling novel by Joseph Finder, Paranoia was directed by Robert Luketic and will hit theaters Aug. 16.
