Disney's 'Muppets Most Wanted' Trailer Stars Tina Fey
What's This?
Disney pulled back the curtains on the official teaser trailer for its much-anticipated Muppets sequel on Tuesday.
In the clip for Muppets Most Wanted (above), the gang embarks on a global tour, in which some of Europe's hotspots are covered, such as Berlin, London and Madrid, among others. Of course, it's not all fun and games, as Kermit and company find themselves ensnarled in a European jewel-heist led by Kermit's doppelganger. The follow-up comes on the heels of 2011's The Muppets , which starred Jason Segel, Amy Adams and Chris Cooper.
Touted cheekily in the trailer as "quite possibly the greatest motion picture of all time," the film features Ricky Gervais as one of the antagonists, Tina Fey as Nadya, a feisty prison guard, and Ty Burrell as Interpol agent Jean Pierre Napoleon. Judging from the preview and the movie's IMDb cast page, the Muppets have also wrangled a sizable load high-profile stars for cameos: P. Diddy Celine Dion, Usher, Ray Liotta, Christoph Waltz and Danny Trejo are also listed.
Helmed and penned by James Bobin, the Disney picture was produced by David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman. Nicholas Stoller helped write and executive produce with John G. Scotti. The music comes from Oscar-winning songwriter Bret McKenzie, with the trailer giving a glimpse at some of the musical magic that's in store — including a cute rendition of Maroon 5's "Moves Like Jagger."
Muppets Most Wanted is scheduled to hit theaters on March 21, 2014. Take a peek at the trailer above, and let us know what you think about the look of the sequel in the comments below.
