Coldplay Releases Lyrics For 'Hunger Games: Catching Fire' Song
What's This?
Friday was a big day for Coldplay. Not only did the British rock band confirm that their song will be featured in the upcoming Hunger Games: Catching Fire movie soundtrack, but they also plastered a photo of the lyrics for the song on Facebook and Twitter.
The song "Atlas" embraces the film's fiery theme, referencing the sun, smoke and figurative internal combustion. Coldplay is the first confirmed artist announced in association with the movie, although a composer and music supervisor have already been locked down. Lionsgate has yet to confirm or deny whether the rumored "We the Kings" song is part of the soundtrack.
Singer Chris Martin shared the lyrics online and signed his posts from Coldplay's social accounts with "-CM." Martin and his bandmates signed the paper on which the lyrics were written.
Catching Fire hits theaters on Nov. 22 and stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Woody Harrelson, Lenny Kravitz, Elizabeth Banks, Stanley Tucci and Donald Sutherland.
Minor spoiler alert for those who haven't read the Hunger Games books: In the newest film, victors of Hunger Games past will compete in the Quarter Quell — a deadly tradition pitting victors against each other every 25 years. Katniss (Lawrence) and Peeta (Hutcherson) are among the Quarter Quell contestants that will battle victors from other districts in the 75th Hunger Games.
