Wireless Speaker Doubles Up to Create Real Stereo Sound
What's This?
Wireless speakers have been on the market for some time, but the Blazar, a Bluetooth aluminum speaker from Beacon Audio that allows dual stereo pairing, achieves deeper, more immersive sound from portable speakers.
The Kickstarter-based speaker has already passed its goal of $90,000, with just over a month left to go.
The Blazar is powered by a rechargeable battery that lasts for 12 hours of continuous connection and use and has an aluminum enclosure. It connects to almost any laptop, tablet, smartphone or other smart device via Bluetooth. Its NFC chip for close-range taps connections with newer smartphones. The speaker also boasts a set of controls on top and a built-in microphone.
Beacon Audio explains that the Blazar's most valuable asset is its ability to connect to a second unit and provide true two-channel stereo sound, all while remaining light and portable. The Blazar's Kickstarter page states the speaker will "actually separate the sound into true Left and Right stereo signals."
Collaborations are currently in the works with a variety of artists such as Awolnation and Neon Trees to create special editions of the speaker, which Kickstarter backers can receive after donating a specific amount. The speaker will be available for $124.
