Jay Z's Old Hyphen Looks for a Job on Craiglist

Jay Z officially dropped the hyphen in his name last week, confusing fans and copy editors everywhere with the seemingly sudden decision. Perhaps most upset of all was the former hyphen itself.

Feeling left out in the cold, a parody of the rapper's outcast hyphen posted a job listing on a site many visit in search of employment: Craigslist.

In the fake listing, the hyphen isn't too thrilled about his recent firing. He makes it clear that he possesses the skills required of a model hyphen, namely "joining two separate words to create a compound word (like 'back-stabbing')."

Billboard editor Joe Levy broke the news via Twitter, but commented that Jay Z had actually implemented the change slowly over his past several albums, making it official with his latest release Magna Carta Holy Grail.

Here's hoping the abandoned punctuation at least finds a paid internship.
