Today, we're looking at three particularly interesting stories. Amazon missed its earnings target for the quarter despite solid revenue and sales. The retailer reported $15.7 billion in revenue, up from last year’s $12.8 billion, but experienced a $7 million operating loss — neatly offsetting its $7 million profit secured last year.


Google has already ended a promotion tied to its new Chromecast streaming dongle. Finally, a study from the Illinois Institute of Technology analyzed five 3D printers that use raw ABS and PLA plastics and found they emit high levels of ultra-fine particles (UFPs).
