Jon Stewart Wants You to Help Buy CNN With a $10 Billion 'Kickstarter'

Jon Stewart has launched a "Kickstarter" campaign to raise money to by CNN.

21st Century Fox's recent attempt to acquire Time Warner came with the caveat that the combined company would need to sell off CNN.

Time Warner executives rejected the deal. But, just in case, Jon Stewart is ready to pounce.

On Tuesday night's episode of The Daily Show, Stewart announced the launch of a "Kickstarter" page to buy CNN. There is no actual campaign (sadly), but it does have a website: LetsBuyCNN.com.

Like any good Kickstarter, there are plenty of perks for contributors, such as inclusion in a CNN 21 box for $10, the chance to take molly with Fareed Zakaria for $25,000, and the right to host a CNN Hunger Games-style fight to the death between CNN anchors for $1 billion.
