Microsoft's newest ad for the Surface Pro 3 tablet is making a bold statement about the future of laptops: You don't need them.

The ad features a young man moving deftly about his day with the aid of his Surface Pro 3, using the device as an alarm clock, a notepad and a laptop. In short, he can do everything on one seamlessly connected device.
