The Kansas City Police announced Thursday they a suspect has been arrested in a monthlong string of roadway shootings that began in early March.
Police say most of the shootings took place on highways, and many from a moving vehicle that would then pull away on the nearest exit or interchange ramp, according to the LA Times .
Local, state and federal authorities met to share information and tips as they hunted for a suspect. They believe one gunman is responsible for 12 connected shootings.
Unnamed sources with knowledge of the investigation told WDAF-TV that authorities had kept the suspect under round-the-clock surveillance for more than a week leading up to the arrest.
The last of the incidents took place April 8. The shootings left resulted in a total of three injuries, none of which were life-threatening.
