The incredibly difficult — and incredibly addictive — Flappy Bird is quite the money-maker for the developer behind the arcade-style game. In an interview with The Verge, developer Dong Nguyen says the app earns an average of $50,000 per day — all thanks to in-game advertisements.


Amazon has acquired video game developer Double Helix Games, according to TechCrunch.


Sony announced it will refocus its efforts on three businesses: imaging, gaming and mobile. The company has its Sony VAIO brand and PC business to Japan Industrial Partners and plans to spin off its TV business into a wholly owned subsidiary.
