Satya Nadella's appointment as the new CEO of Microsoft, coupled with the news that Bill Gates would step down as chairman of the board of Microsoft, sent the tech industry and notable corporate leaders abuzz.



Many, like Cisco CTO Padmasree Warrior, were congratulatory.


Noted investor Chris Sacca added his congrats.


Jack Welch, the former CEO of General Electric, approved of the move.


Sravish Sridhar, CEO of Kinvey, said he's looking forward to the future.


Some used the chance to poke some fun at Microsoft, like Howard Lindzon, cofounder of Stocktwits.


As did Inside.com founder and CEO Jason Calacanis, who noted Nadella's tech-cool garb.


Robert Stephens, the former CTO of Best Buy, expressed some skepticism about the way Microsoft reported the move by Gates.


However, Dropbox CEO and cofounder Aaron Levie had perhaps the most ominous tweet of the day.
