Florida State faces Auburn in the BCS National Championship on Monday night at 8:30 p.m. EST. The game features an intriguing matchup, with superstar freshman Jameis Winston leading Florida State against the Tigers, an apparent team of destiny that landed in the title game following one of the most miraculous plays in college football history.
If you're stuck at work or otherwise far from a massive HD television, we've got you covered. This year, you can watch the BCS Championship online.
ESPN is carrying the game on TV, so you can tune in via the WatchESPN app. The app is free and available for iOS (iTunes link) and Android (Google Play link) devices. You will, however, need cable authentication credentials to access the stream. Alternatively, if you're an Xfinity customer, you can tune in via its ESPN Live streaming feature.
The sports network will incorporate the online world into its regular broadcast as well. As part of its BCS "Megacast" coverage plan, ESPN2 will show a telecast called "Title Talk." Analysts and guests will discuss the live action, with highlights, stats and game updates interspersed. The Title Talk broadcast will also include Twitter polls, Twitter trends and a "social stripe" that broadcasts online commentary from fans, media members and notable alumni of the two schools.
Oh, and one last tip: During the game, keep an eye out for "Red Lightning," the Seminoles' extremely exuberant ball-boy whose highlight reel recently went viral.
