While much of the discussion in the gaming world this year centered around the highly-anticipated releases of the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 gaming consoles, 2013 has also been a strong year for releases of individual games.

Celebrated franchises such as Pokémon , Grand Theft Auto , and Saints Row released new installments, and original games such as Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons and The Stanley Parable demonstrated great imaginative capabilities of developers.
