NBA Star Honors Sandy Hook Victims With 26-Name Tribute

Blossoming NBA star Andre Drummond of the Detroit Pistons became a prized high school recruit at the St. Thomas More School, less than 90 minutes' drive from Newtown, Conn. He played his one year of college hoops at the University of Connecticut, also located within easy driving distance from Newtown, where last December a lone gunman at Sandy Hook Elementary School killed 20 children and six adults.


Drummond paid tribute to the shooting victims on Sunday by writing all 26 names on the sneakers he wore for the Pistons' game against the Portland Trail Blazers. He shared this photo on Instagram with the hashtag #CtTogetherWeStand before Sunday's game:


Drummond also donated his jersey from the game to Sandy Hook Elementary. So if you weren't already an Andre Drummond fan, it's not too late to become one.
