Apple Sold 170 Million iPads to Date

Apple has sold 170 million iPads since the product launched in early 2010, the company revealed during its event in San Francisco on Tuesday.

Tim Cook, Apple's CEO, revealed that Apple had sold its 170 millionth tablet earlier this month and poked fun at some of the naysayers who scoffed at the original 9.7-inch device when it was introduced three and a half years ago. Cook also revealed that there are now 475,000 apps for iPad in the App Store.
