Sgs-announcement

The 2013 Social Good Summit agenda is now live! You can check out the agenda page on the Social Good Summit website to stay up to date on all of the panels that will take place from Sept. 22 through Sept. 24.

This September, the 2013 Social Good Summit is bringing together people from around the world to make a positive change using digital tools. Our theme, #2030NOW focuses on how we're using digital to pave the way for a brighter future by 2030. Here are some must-see panels to check out at the conference:

Young, Global and Connected: Engaging Youth Now to Build a Healthier, Safer World for 2030

Today’s youth are tomorrow’s future leaders. Like no other time in history, younger generations around the world are raising their voices to discuss the future they want, and the world is taking notice. With the United Nations’ MyWorld2015 survey, youth have the opportunity to decide the development priorities of their future. Learn more on how organizations such as the U.S. Department of State and the UN are joining together to connect with the youth of the world with speakers Zeenat Rahman, Tina Wells, Ahmad Alhendawi and Ruma Bose.

Malaria No More

Malaria No More is making innovative use of mobile technology in ways that have the potential to revolutionize the fight against malaria in hardest-hit developing regions. CEO Martin Edlund will highlight how innovative uses of technology can make malaria the "first disease beaten by mobile."

Social Enterprise Collaboration: Providing 20/20 by 2030

Warby Parker has built a reputation for fashionable eyewear and unique social enterprise model. For every pair of Warby Parker glasses purchased, the company distributes to someone in need. Rather than donate glasses using a more traditional "one-for-one" model, Warby Parker funds the production of a pair of eyeglasses for the non-profit organization VisionSpring. This model has helped Warby Parker distribute more than 500,000 pairs of eyeglasses. Hear from Neil Blumenthal of Warby Parker, Jordan Kassalow of VisionSpring and Elizabeth Gore on how to build a successful social enterprise collaboration that not only increases profits, but also gives back.

The Next 15 Years: How will technology, data and digital media shape our world?

With the United Nation's Millennium Development Goals counting down the last 1,000 days, the world faces a challenge and an opportunity to plan for beyond 2015. Lengthy and detailed research has been dedicated to inclusive input on how we move forward, in better ways, as one global community. Moreover, for the first time ever, this feedback takes into account the modern world we live in and innovative resources such as technology, data, and digital media that have the power to change how we tackle global poverty and injustice.

Other speaker highlights on the agenda include Ian Somerhalder, Al Gore and Ron Garan.
