Nokia Has Lost 20% of Smartphone Market Since Microsoft Partnership

Nokia's share of the smartphone market has been in rapid decline for several years. While at the start of 2010 nearly 40% of smartphone owners used Nokia devices, the company's market share has plummeted to below 5%.
A full 20% of Nokia's market share decline occurred after the Feb. 11, 2011, announcement that the company would be entering a strategic partnership with Microsoft.
After much discussion of the implications Microsoft's $7.2 billion takeover of Nokia on Tuesday, Statista created this chart comparing Microsoft and Nokia's performances over the past two and a half years.
