The Galo de Barcelos ("Rooster of Barcelos") is a national Portuguese emblem that represents honesty, integrity, trust and honor. It originated from the tale of a dead rooster that saved a falsely-accused man who was sentenced to death.

Portugal is covered with symbols of the brightly-painted rooster, but this might be the first one in space.

As a result of the initiative of 3D enthusiast Marco Neiva and local support, a figurine of the Galo de Barcelos soared to heights of over 33,000 feet.
