Lady Gaga's artsy "Applause" music video premiered Monday on Good Morning America, and nearly every scene looks as though it should be printed, framed and mounted as art.

Primarily shrouded in black and white with pops of color, the clip shows the 27-year-old pop star rising from a giant top hat, quivering in a birdcage, fluttering with skeleton wings, transforming into a black swan and dancing in bras shaped like seashells.

MTV announced Monday that Gaga will open Sunday's Video Music Awards with a performance of "Applause." The song is the first single from Gaga's fourth studio album, ARTPOP, which is slated to debut Nov. 11 with an app-based multimedia experience.
